What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Physician position at Peace River Center for Personal Development, Inc.?
This position will provide primary care services to adults and children who may have co-occurring behavioral health disorders in our primary care clinic and our Primary Care practice. Will work collaboratively with the Program Director to provide health and wellness education and care management. Will work with psychiatric providers to integrate primary and behavioral health care needs.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
· Provide physical examinations and order lab work as required.
· Provides pharmacological management.
· Performs diagnostic evaluations according to licensure.
· Participates in peer review.
· Member of the Medical Staff Panel
· Ability to arrive to work and be ready to work on time.

Qualifications & Experience
· A graduate from an accredited medical school
· A current medical license in the state of Florida
· Previous clinical experience beyond the required residency
· Board certification in a relevant specialization preferred
· A detail-oriented and compassionate approach with patients and staff
· Strong leadership and organization skills
· A well-developed ability to solve problems on their feet
· A high degree of physical stamina and dexterity needed to perform various treatments and
accurately administer medications
· Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party reimbursement. Individuals excluded from participation in
federal reimbursement programs (including Medicaid, Medicare, and CHAMPUS) by the Office of the Inspector
General do not meet the requirements for this position.
· Successful completion of background review and reference checks as required by law, including Criminal Record
Check, Child Abuse Registry Check, Dependent Adult Registry Check, Sexual Offender Registry Check, Screening
of the National Practitioners Data Bank, and other checks as required by law.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Assessment and diagnostic skills commensurate with the education required.
Bilingual preferred but not required.
· Knowledge of wellness and recovery models.
· Knowledge of advanced pharmacology, and psychotropic medication.
· Knowledge of mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
· Knowledge of consultation and education theory and techniques.
· Knowledge of DSM-IV criteria.
· Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws.
· Knowledge of medication side effects.
· Knowledge of drug interactions.
· Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision
· Skill in treatment planning
· Skill in training medical/clinical staff
· Skill in interpreting laboratory tests
· Skill in assessing and developing treatment programs
· Skill in the operation of a computer and use of appropriate computer software
