Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the New Truck Sales Manager, the New Truck Salesman is responsible for selling new Class 6, 7, and 8 commercial trucks, revenue generation, and achieving customer satisfaction
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Interact with potential and existing customers to understand their needs and preferences for Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
- Sales Process Management: Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial contact to finalizing the sale, including test drives and financing options.
- Product Expertise: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the specifications, features, and benefits of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and industry developments to provide relevant recommendations to customers.
- Documentation: Handle all necessary paperwork for vehicle sales, including contracts, warranties, and financing agreements.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Sales Targets: Achieve or exceed sales targets and quotas set by the dealership or company.
- After-Sales Support: Provide ongoing support to customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and address any issues that arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Sales Experience: Previous experience in sales, particularly in the commercial vehicle industry, is required.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive buying experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of truck specifications and the ability to explain technical details to customers.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate prices and financing terms to close sales.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple customers and sales processes simultaneously.
- Licenses/Certifications: commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a giant plus.
- Sales Certification from Freightliner LLC on all products the company represents.
