Volunteer Engagement Director

Description

The Volunteer Engagement Director, plays a critical role in fostering deep connections between members and the mission of Peachtree Church. This position leads the way in creating a culture of engagement, where individuals are encouraged to grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and serve the church and community with purpose and passion. The Volunteer Engagement Director will lead the “Share” initiative, a key component of Peachtree’s 5-year strategic plan, which is dedicated to serving at Peachtree, in the community, and around the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term engagement strategies that align with the church’s mission and vision. Regularly assess and refine these initiatives to enhance effectiveness and impact.
• Member Engagement: Design pathways for new visitors and members to engage in service opportunities both within the church and in the broader community.
• Ministry Promotion and Participation: Lead efforts to increase engagement across key ministry areas (e.g., children’s ministry, youth ministry, hospitality, and missions), ensuring that all members have opportunities to serve, grow, and build relationships.
• Volunteer Recruitment and Development: Partner with ministry leaders to recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers for church events, programs, and initiatives.
• Communication Strategy: Work alongside the communications team to develop and implement effective messaging across various platforms (website, social media, email, newsletters) to engage the congregation and promote church activities, events, and opportunities.
• Congregational Feedback and Needs Assessment: Regularly engage with church members to gather feedback, understand their needs, and identify areas for improvement in engagement.
• Leadership Development: Build and equip teams of leaders to champion engagement efforts, including ministry leaders, group leaders, and volunteers.
• Technology and Systems: Integrate technology to enhance church engagement through tools such as church apps, virtual platforms, and online groups. Ensure that both in-person and remote members can remain connected.

• A passionate, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for connecting people to the church and its mission.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 4 years of experience in church ministry and volunteer engagement.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to create and implement strategic plans for congregation engagement.
• At least 4 years of experience in volunteer management, event planning, and leading large teams.
• Tech-savvy with experience using church management software, social media platforms, and virtual meeting tools.
• Collaborative leadership style with flexibility, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset to address challenges related to engagement and connection.
• Self-starter who enjoys building and developing new initiatives.
