Job Title: Lidar Data Processing Specialist

Type: Contract (Minimum 3-4 months)

Location: Frederick, MD

Work Arrangement: Hybrid/In-Office Preferred

Job Overview:

Our client is on the lookout for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our production team for a contract position in Lidar Data Processing. This role focuses on tasks such as Point Classification, hydro breakline collection, and quality control (QC). Familiarity with USGS specifications and industry standards is preferred to help us maintain our high quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify lidar point clouds
• Perform quality control on Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) and Digital Surface Models (DSMs)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in lidar data processing, specifically in point classification and DEM surface QC
• Proficiency in GIS software, with a preference for MicroStation, TerraScan/TerraModeler, LP360, Global Mapper, and ArcGIS/Pro
• Strong understanding of mapping/GIS technology, data quality, and relevant industry standards
• Familiarity with MS Office and Windows operating systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
• Ability to work efficiently in a team environment under pressure

• Positions are available immediately and will last through the end of 2024, with extension into 2025..
• Some Training will be provided prior to project assignment.
