Position Overview
As a Voice Engineer, you’ll design, deploy, and optimize Client's voice communication systems, managing phone number provisioning, call routing, operator connect platforms, and integrating systems with Active Directory. You’ll work closely with internal teams to maintain reliable and secure voice infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and deploy new desk phones, assign phone numbers (DID), and manage call routing.
- Integrate AudioCodes (or similar SBC) devices and manage OVAC/Operator Connect platforms.
- Provision voice services in Active Directory, ensuring accurate user mapping and permissions.
- Collaborate with network teams to support VLAN segmentation, QoS policies, and overall voice network design.
- Diagnose and resolve voice-related issues—troubleshoot call quality, voicemail, and connectivity problems.
- Monitor voice system performance and implement enhancements to ensure high availability.
- Maintain documentation—including as-built voice configurations, routing plans, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal IT across patching, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacements.
Candidate Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years deploying and supporting enterprise voice systems in converged data/voice environments.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with AudioCodes SBCs, OVAC, Teams Phone System or similar platforms.
- Strong Active Directory experience for user provisioning and DID assignment.
- Understanding of VLAN, QoS, UDP/RTP protocols, packet traces, and call flow diagnostics.
