Bartender (Part Time)

The Bartender is responsible for the prompt and courteous service of beverage and spirits, as well as the mixing of drinks for cocktail service and serving food.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve beverages to guests promptly and politely.
• Accurately complete requisition and order coding to maintain established par amounts.
• Pick-up daily order and record transfers.
• Keep glass shelving dust-free, mirrors clean and maintain proper liquor storage.
• Keep bar, storage areas and beer coolers clean and sanitary always.
• Perform other cleaning tasks as schedules.
• Properly sanitize blender cup, strainer, knives and pour spouts.
• Pour accurate amounts of liquor and other beverages.
• Operate and maintain ordering system for outlets.
• Complete closing reports and counting of cash for the bank deposit.
• Monitor alcohol consumption and behavior of guests.
• Serve as cashier and assist servers as necessary.
• Ensure general housekeeping, including cleaning of fixtures, appliances, counters, dusting, and sweeping.
• Ensure that glassware is without spots or fingerprints.
• Set-up for any special service, such as hors d’oeuvres, as scheduled.
• Polish stainless-steel sink and wells.
• Monitor time and activity of cocktail server and entertainment.
• Fill out work orders.
• Fill out end of the day reports and bank information clearly and accurately.
• Cut fresh fruit daily.
• Attend monthly meetings.
• Sign employee timecards at the end of the shift, if necessary.
• Check identification and verify age of those who appear younger than 25 years old.
• Conduct inventory on first day of month. Fill-in for other bartenders and servers as needed. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Assist with special events as needed.
• Comply with all Pebble Beach Company safety, health and general policies and procedures.

Absolutely Required Skills: 

• Basic drink knowledge.
• Good math and communication skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Food safety and Reasonable Beverage Service certifications. 

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Info Genesis or other restaurant point of sale system helpful.
