What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaping Crew Leader position at Pebble Creek Landscaping?

Then we are looking for you! Pebble Creek has been in business for 20 years now and we are looking for landscape crew leaders to run their own trucks sad crew members to the best they can be!

The landscape crew leader is accountable for the performance of his crew. Scheduling, quality, efficiency, communication, costs, safety and employee morale all fall under his leadership. The most important job is lead by example and live the Golden Rule.

Specific Job Duties:

Human Resources

  • Enforce Employee Handbook with the crew members that report to you, recommend corrective action as required and document process
  • Authorize any and all overtime with input from management
  • Complete 30/60/90 day reviews on new hires, strive to reduce turnover and absenteeismUse first week to assess new employees, suggest retain or terminate
  • Attend company leadership training program

Customer/Customer Service

  • Meet with client when you arrive at job site to introduce yourself and the teamEngage client throughout process to insure customer approval as necessary
  • Walk finished project with customer and landscape manager, rectify all deficiencies to customers total satisfaction

Planning and Organization

  • Address schedules and times with reporting manager and office staff
  • Assist in preparation of job site prior to beginning a project
  • Call Your manager and office throughout the day to check in and see if anything has come up. Check email frequently during day
  • Develop a cohesive and functional process for completing ALL jobs (communication, filing, invoicing, follow-up)Participate in mini-morning meeting for job/task of the day and Friday afternoon meetings to review performance for the week.

Equipment

  • Keep maintenance records for your crews truck and equipment; ie oil changes, tires, service work, repairs, replacements etc.Develop an action plan with management.
  • Create a daily checklist to have the crew check in the truck at the end of shift for cleanliness; beds empty, inside vacuumed and wiped down, windows cleaned, all tools accounted for etc.
  • Follow up with maintenance repairman on equipment out of service
  • Maintain Pebble Creek vehicles to DOT compliance (physicals, documentation, inspections).
  • Insure all vehicles and trailer are neat, clean, orderly and reflect positively on Pebble Creek

Quality

  • Ensure you fully understand all aspects of the job before you begin, ASK QUESTIONS!
  • Take notes of work that could be done to enhance property even more.
  • Make sure ALL PROJECTS meet 100% Pebble Creek Standards.
  • Look for additional work/enhancements outside of current scope of work

Productivity

  • Manage the execution of landscape construction projectsDelegate tasks to appropriate crew members, hold them accountable for performance

Modify plans with manager to insure project stays on schedule and on budget

Keep a log of job progress and material usageLook for opportunities to control/reduce costs

  • Track truck idle time and address excess, company goal is less than one hour per week
  • Work with crews to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality

Administrative

  • Submit inventory of plant materials used on projects to compare with original estimate for invoicing.
  • Ensure landscaping forms/work orders are properly completed and submitted to the office for invoicing/customer files on daily basis.
  • Maintain detailed notes for each property throughout project to facilitate communication between customer and office.
  • Provide daily status updates on all projects through completion.
  • Work with office staff to ensure that all customers are invoiced within 24-hours (1 business day) of completion.

Training and Development

  • This position requires the following certifications to develop as a Pebble Creek manager and leader and as a skilled landscape professional
  • Wall Block Certification
  • CDL Certification
  • Soil & Erosion Certification
  • Silt Fence
  • Paver Installation
  • Woody Plant Identification
  • Landscape Design Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
