What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivable Specialist position at Peco Pallet?
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is primarily responsible for collecting a designated portion of the company’s accounts receivable portfolio. Related activities include invoice processing, invoice distribution, and cash application. This position may also involve accounts receivable-related financial analysis and metrics reporting.
In carrying out each of the functions related to this role, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be in direct contact with the company’s clients, both on the phone and through email. Frequent communications with other department members and with other employees in the sales and service departments will also be essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Invoice processing: Use the company’s accounting system to generate, review, post, and distribute invoices to customers daily.
- Account collections – ongoing communication with customers via phone and email regarding the timely payment of their account balances.
- Cash application – apply and post incoming customer payments to their respective accounts daily.
- Account reconciliation – frequent review and resolution of client balances.
- Customer information - maintains up-to-date customer contact information in the collections systems.
- Accounts Receivable-related financial analysis and metrics reporting.
EXPERIENCE:
- Accomplished professional with at least 5 years of experience in a credit and collections department.
- Prior B2B collection experience.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science Degree - Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related area of study is preferred.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Hands-on familiarity and aptitude with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics Navision a plus).
- Intermediate level of ability with Microsoft Office – Excel Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
