What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Front Desk position at PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY CONSULTANTS OF SOUTH TEXAS?
Pediatric Cardiology practice in Live Oak is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is a positive, pro-active self starter with excellent organizational and clinical skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
2. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
3.Performs front desk duties like answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, confirming patient appointments, insurance prior authorizations etc.
4. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
5. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Records tests and examination results in patient's chart.
6. Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
7. Maintains patient confidentiality.
8. Perform other related duties as directed or required.

Minimum requirements:
- One year experience as a medical assistant, pediatric experience preferred.
- Highly proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Practice Management Software, and Electronic Medical Records.
- Experience with NexGen a plus
- Bilingual a plus

- 8 hour shifts
- Monday to Friday
