The Early Head Start Teacher serves as an Infant-Toddler Teacher for a classroom of children 0-3 years of age. The Teacher will work collaboratively with his/her partner Teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom with a total of 6-8 children. The Teacher, along with families and colleagues, works to achieve meaningful progress of each child along his/her own unique developmental path and toward school readiness goals. The Early Head Start Teacher reports directly to the Director of Child Care
Qualifications
- Infant/Toddler CDA OR AA/BA in Early Childhood Education OR related field with at least 120 training hours in Infant/Toddler content plus 480 hours of experience working with infants and toddlers.
- CPR and First Aide certification
- Thorough knowledge of child development
- Familiarity with the design and implementation of early childhood curriculum
- Ability to work effectively with parents/caregivers from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills – written and oral
- Computer literacy required: efficiency in Microsoft office. Ability to learn new programs.
- High level of confidentiality and ethics.
- Ability to work well independently or as a member of a team.
- Proficiency in the use of specialized therapy equipment (including G-tubes, oxygen, bolsters, wheelchairs etc.) or willingness to learn
- Ability to lift or move objects of 50 lbs. or less on a daily basis.
- Must have sufficient mobility to move- including bend, stoop, reach, lift and grasp.
- Meeting vaccine standards as outlined in Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure control plan
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle during working hours'
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
