Summary
Responsible for improving the productivity of the credit union's employees, for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs. Assess developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions. Actively search, creatively design, and implement effective methods to educate and enhance performance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate a comprehensive employee training and development program, (sales training, leadership development programs, shadowing programs, CML programs and community and school education programs. Conduct ongoing needs assessments, analyze overall organizational development requirements, and ensure training programs support the credit union's vision, goals, and objectives. Support strategic initiatives designed to communicate core values and reinforce company culture. With assistance from credit union department managers/supervisors, create effective techniques and appropriate methodologies to train in areas of job skills, comprehensive technical training, products and services, compliance regulations, healthsafety practices, employee development and changes in policies, procedures, and technologies. Design, coordinate and conduct new hire orientation. Research, customize and deliver employee soft skills training including member service, conflict resolution, time management, effective communication and team building skills and sales skills (CML). Assist managers and supervisors to determine technical and other types of training needs and define training objectives.
Knowledge and Skills
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Communication Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Must have good communication and presentation skills. Ability to operate general office equipment such as: calculators, computers, copiers, scanners, and computer keyboard skills required; Good understanding of Credit Union operations. Maintains confidentiality related to Credit Union operations and work-related information.
Physical requirements Must possess hand, wrist, and finger dexterity to use keyboard, phone, and calculator in a repetitive manner throughout your scheduled time, and the ability to view a computer monitor throughout your scheduled time.
Availability Must be available to work from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. M-F and Sat. and work a flexible schedule. May be required to work at other branches and have the ability to travel to and from those branches.
