Position Details

Pennfield Middle School Spanish Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS :

Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Spanish Endorsement.
Knowledge and experience in teaching Spanish, preferably at a secondary level.
Experience with Spanish speaking communities / cultures.
Knowledge of and able to apply best instructional practices
Strong personal integrity and professional ethics
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Possess good communication skills
Positive behavioral support experience preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Ability to plan and coordinate with general education teachers

Ability to maintain accurate records and meet multiple deadlines

A desire to continue to grow as a professional

Ability / experience leading team meetings

Understands diversity of student learning styles and can skillfully prepare and apply differentiated learning experiences

Experience working with students of varying academic abilities

Demonstrates ability to use data to drive instructional decisions

Computer literate with a proven proficiency to effectively apply and integrate technology to support meaningful teaching and successful student learning

Experience / training in Restorative Practices and Trauma Informed Care is preferred

Ability to develop / sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the school community

Motivates students and influences their behavior

Creates and executes clear, logical instructional plans collaboratively that produce strong results in student learning

Maintains and communicates standards of pupil behavior and classroom management expectations for the purpose of providing a safe and secure learning environment

Creates and thrives in a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability

Maintain the drive for results by demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead

Understands and implements Board of Education Policy, Administrative Guidelines, and organizational practices for the purpose of consistency and compliance

SALARY : Based on Teacher Contract and Salary Schedule

REPORTS TO : Middle School Principal

STARTING DATE : As soon as possible
