Part-Time positions are staffed twice daily between 6am to 10am and 6pm to 10pm.

Position Functions for Part-Time Inmate Security Officer
Medication administration for inmates.- Medication administration documentation.
- Pushing a medication cart between locations within the jail.
- Performing security rounds during scheduled and unscheduled times. Using discretion to determine violations, unusual situations, and directing the appropriate response.
- Initiating and monitoring inmate movement.
- Attending to the needs of inmates in assigned areas to including responding to inmate inquires as directed.
- Distributing authorized items to inmates.
- Being alert and prepared to respond with force in an emergent situation, and to aid others as outlined in policy.
- Understanding and enforcement of the Prison Rape Elimination Act Federal Standards.
- Using discretion in responding to inmate requests
- Responding to emergencies, including medical emergencies.
- Responding to inmate mental health behaviors to include determining risk factors for mental health intervention or implementing suicide precautions.
- Documenting incidents, movement, rounds and inmate discipline.
- Performing person, property, and facility searches.
- Facility inmate movement as directed.
- Operate department computer program; dictate and/or type reports
- Assisting with cell block operational tasks as needed
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age for Part-Time Positions.
- At least 19 years of age for Full-Time Positions.
- Preference will be given to those with military, public safety and/or security experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
