JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Shipping and Receiving
Department: Shipping
Location: Mercersburg, PA
Reports To: Shipping Supervisor

Position Summary:
Performs duties related to shipping and receiving of goods. Verifies, organizes, and distributes incoming goods, as well as preparing goods for shipment. Prepares all related documents.

Essential Functions:

• Receives merchandise, verifies quality and quantity of items, and sign proper paperwork for delivery.
• Organizes the shipping of merchandise, verifying weights and skid counts are correct, and creates the bill of ladings.
• Once a trailer is loaded verify the seal and bill of lading match.
• Completes all necessary paperwork to include but not limited to:

Forklift and rack inspection sheets.Trailer inspection forms

• Help load and unload as needed.
• Complete weekly cycle counts for all finished products.
• Maintains building by keeping the area clean and organized.
• Maintain required information through DSI or computer programs to include but not limited to:

Vats and weights for orders.
Truck schedules for outgoing loads.

• Follow all Company policies and procedures.
• Complete any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management team.
• Help with basic building maintenance, snow shovel, weed pulling, and others assigned by supervisor

Skill and Physical Demand Requirements:

• Possess the ability to be trained to operate a forklift.
• Need to be organized and pay attention to details/documentation.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Good communication, interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, stoop and squat frequently.
• Ability to wear hearing protection in high noise areas.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Education/Experience and Work Environment:

• One year forklift experience preferred
• High school graduate or equivalent
• The ability to read and comprehend.
• Knowledgeable of or the ability to learn proper shipping techniques and procedures.
• Must be able to work as a team player as well as independently.
• Need to be able to work in cold temperatures.

In the event of absenteeism another trained qualified employee will be reassigned to this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
