What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at PENNONI?

We are looking for a Construction Inspector to join our Van Note-Harvey business on a full-time, direct basis. This person will be based out of our office in Princeton, NJ while also supporting operations throughout the region.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as an Engineering Liaison to the Contractor(s) for projects.
- Observe all on-site construction activities to verify that the work performed and the materials used are in compliance with engineering plans / specifications.
- Record field data and prepare daily reports to document observations, daily quantities / resource amounts, non-compliance, etc.
- Verify measurements in the field to ensure compliance & on-plan progression.
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
This person will be expected to work in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver’s License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree (or higher) in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field is a plus!
- Experience working in field inspections and/or construction is preferred.
- Proficiency on standard computer software (e.g.: Microsoft Office applications, etc.); experience iOS applications is a plus!
- Experience utilizing Engineering & Construction Management tools; experience utilizing AutoCAD, PlanGrid, and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud is a plus!
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
