POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and standards. Eliminate or control hazardous conditions. This role must apply safety-related elements of the physical sciences, ergonomics, psychology, and physiology; and safety principles, standings, practices, and analytical techniques providing overall SH&E program execution.
Essential Functions
· Conducts safety meetings toolbox talks, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
· Facilitate regular safety meetings to disseminate information, address safety concerns, and promote a culture of safety awareness.
· Plans, implements, and conducts safety and compliance training programs.
· Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises.
· Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirms site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines, and regulations.
· Develop and implement emergency response plans to address potential workplace emergencies.
· Serves as primary contact for site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
· Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
· Build and maintain a working relationship with the production employees.
· Conducts safety assessment during routine production activities.
· Monitors safety regulations for recommendations in changes and revisions of Company Safety Manual.
· Facilitates in developing and conducting safety training programs for personnel, including OSHA-related safety requirements.
· Conducts new employee safety orientation training.
· Manages PPE distribution and vendor as well as Facility Cleaning Vendor.
· Provides technical support to production supervisors.
· Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
· All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree specializing in Occupational Health and Safety
• Must be knowledgeable of state and federal workplace health and safety laws.
• Working knowledge of health and safety plans
Preferred Education / Experience
• Minimum 5 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 2 years management level safety profession experience preferred.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards plus familiarity with DOE 10 CFR Part 851 highly desirable
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Working Relationships-Relationships are generally intra-organizational, interacting with supervisors and personnel. Creating the interface between departments allowing for the coordination and execution of production requirements.
Physical Job Demands
Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, and must stand for long periods of time, Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust. May need a high level of concentration in a busy area.
Working Conditions
Monday through Friday and on-call is required. Shift, weekend, and overtime as required.
