What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compounding Technician position at Pentec Health?
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Production Supervisor and supervision of assigned staff pharmacists, this position is accountable for those pharmacy services which require skill and training, but do not require professional judgment, as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist. This includes assisting in the maintenance, preparation and distribution of intravenous admixtures and prefilled syringes; and performing those duties of the Pharmacy Compounding Technician as assigned.

Salary: The estimated hourly pay for this role is $21 an hour.

Essential Job Duties
- Cleans and maintains the sterile compounded medication area in accordance with USP 797 Guidelines
- Cleans all counter tops and laminar flow hoods with acceptable disinfectants periodically throughout the day as outlined in the policy and procedures manual.
- Stocks the sterile compounded medication room with intravenous solutions, additives, and all other supplies utilized in the sterile compounded medication service.
- Reconstitutes bulk additives and prepares sterile compounded medication utilizing proper aseptic techniques.
- Checks the sterile compounded medication for clarity and no presence of particulate matter.
- Performs other job duties and special projects as assigned.
- Able to stand for up to 8 hours or more per day
- Dependable in attendance and job performance
- Understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
