The Senior Consumer Lending Application Specialist is responsible for obtaining consumer loan and small business loan application information, meeting with members to discuss their overall financial position, and selling credit union ancillary products. This individual will be the subject matter expert in consumer lending application functions and will be the first point of contact for escalated application issues.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist members in all aspects of the lending process.
- Conduct thorough interviews with loan applicants, obtaining credit reports and any additional information/documentation as needed for the processing and review of unsecured and secured loans.
- Act as department subject matter expert in lending policies, lending guidelines and lending procedures.
- Participate in the review and implementation of lending procedures and services.
- Assist with new hire consumer lending training.
- Review and analyze all documentation received to determine acceptability for meeting underwriting stipulations.
- Monitor and manage multiple consumer lending and small business lending queues (including the phone queues) and email inboxes.
