Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Maintenance Worker at People's Arc of Suffolk, located in Bohemia, NY. The Maintenance Worker will handle routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing basic plumbing and carpentry needs. The role includes operating and maintaining power tools, ensuring that facilities are in optimal condition to support the organization's mission. Additional duties may involve responding to repair requests, maintaining cleanliness, and contributing to a safe and functional environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance activities
- Proficiency in handling Power Tools and familiarity with their safe operation
- Skills in Carpentry and basic Plumbing tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus
