Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Systems Administrator works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems. Monitors and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Performs systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Specific tasks include:
- Setting up administrator accounts
- Maintaining system documentation
- Tuning system performance
- Installing system wide software
- Allocating mass storage space
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
- Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software
- Coordinate installation and provide backup recovery
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems with 2-4 years demonstrated work experience or high school diploma and 6 years equivalent combination of training and professional work experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required; Public Trust security clearance required to start
- Experience with the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Installation and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to resolution
- Be able to determine and provide technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
- Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance

- Microsoft Developer Studio 2015 / 2019 / 2022
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2014
- Microsoft Internet Information Server
- Microsoft Professional Office Suite
- Windows Server 2008 / 2016 / 2019 2022
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coding TSQL in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Lean Six Sigma and ISO 9001 experience or training
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- Physical activity may include reaching, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures

Target Salary Range
$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.EEO
