What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Router position at Performance Foodservice?
Responsible for calculating routes and times of deliveries, and makes the necessary adjustments for drivers and customers. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.
Establish delivery routes which are cost effective and compliant with Federal DOT guidelines while still maintaining an acceptable level of customer service, quality and satisfaction. Utilize Roadnet application to ensure Delivery costs are held to company expected run rates year over year.
Establish routing procedures and schedules which allow for the optimum use of personnel and equipment while keeping a strong emphasis on driver safety.
Perform Roadnet application routing maintenance daily to ensure all locations have accuracte, timely, and up-to-date information: Standard Routes and Customer Delivery Requirements; Geo-Coding, delivery days, time windows, service time types, service time overrides, account types, meal beaks; Route start times, pre/post trips, starting/ending depot, travel modes, color for mapping, assigned driver, equipment and DOT road checks; Plan Maintenance equipment with regards to costing, restrictions, and capacities.
Perform and provide costing, off-days, maintenance, scorecard, customer and KPI reporting on scheduled intervals.
Perform a recap of the previous days actual routing results and make necessary changes/adjustments to the Standard routes if required.
Perform maintenance on backhaul locations and produce backhaul reporting to logistics as requested.
Make maps and print driving instructions for drivers that are not familiar with the route assigned. Produce driver manifest report and distribute nightly.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience:
1 – 3 Years
Distribution, logistics, transportation or related work experience.
