What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Perks?
Job Details:
Provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality traditional espresso beverages for our guests.
Job duties but not limited to:
- Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
- General upkeep of retail merchandise presentation and inventory organization.
- Prepare and serve coffee, cortado, americano, latte and cappuccino based on standard recipes.
- Recommends coffee flavor profiles to customers.
- Possess full knowledge in local roasters and tea offerings that we feature.
- Participate in a culture of innovation by contributing ideas for house and seasonal coffee and tea beverages.
- Learns the names and personally recognize our regular guests.
- Takes ownership the coffee bar and maintains cleanliness in all areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
- Taking care of our guests using our methods for delivering contagious hospitality.
The perfect candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Must have exceptional grooming habits.
- Comfortable working early morning hours a must.
- One year of past Barista experience is a must.
- Have working knowledge of traditional espresso beverages.
- Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point of sales system.
- Basic knowledge of 2-group espresso machine and commercial coffee maker.
- Works quickly and efficiently.
- Works well both independently and as a team member.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Outgoing friendly personality.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to exceed guest expectations.
- Excellent multi-tasking and attention to detail.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
