Systems Administrator - Unix - Journeyman level

Currently, we are seeking a Unix  Systems Administrator – Journeyman level to support our Navy customer in Patuxent River, MD (Hybrid work - both remote and on-site).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with patching efforts for Dev/Test, Production, and Infrastructure patching windows across multiple DoD Enclaves
• Responsible for assisting with the mentoring and training UNIX/Linux Systems Administrators on completing tasks and implementing new technologies within PRDC.
• Work collaboratively with other Data Center teams to provide Unix/Linux based solutions to meet business requirements.
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of Ansible playbooks and other administrative shell scripting

• Effectively analyze and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server hardware/firmware/OS and storage by working with cross functional teams and equipment vendors with minimal supervision
• Participating in an on-call rotation
• Taking ownership of issues/outages and seeing that the issue is resolved in a timely manner
• Providing mentorship to more junior team members

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple assignments autonomously and in a team setting
• Effectively interact with peers, management, and the PRDC customer in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace
• Proficient with clear and concise verbal and written communication

Required Experience:

• Proficient experience with UNIX/LINUX operating systems including RHEL7 with a strong emphasis on Solaris
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite
• Demonstrated experience maintaining the integrity and security of a Unix/Linux environment
• A minimum of 5 years of related IT experience is required
• Experience with Red Had Identity Management is preferred
• Experience with Ansible, Ansible Tower, and administrative shell scripting is preferred
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) exposure is preferred

 PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

The Unix  Systems Administrator – Journeyman level shall have one of the following certifications

Certification: One of the following IA certifications: CCNA Security, CySA **, GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, SSCPAND an OS/CE Certification/Qualification Achieved

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret

CONTRACT: This position supports a current, funded contract
