Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Adult and Pediatric Crisis Stabilization
Full Time, Part Time, Pool and Baylor Positions Available
JOB SUMMARY
This is a competent professional nurse, who by training, skill and licensure can deliver and document quality nursing and medical care to clients in an inpatient psychiatric setting. Administers care, observes, assesses, and documents psychiatric and medical issues, administers client medications and provides other services authorized by licensure. Facility contains 2 crisis stabilization units with 30 beds each. One unit is all adults. The other unit is co-located with 15 adults and 15 adolescents. Nurses work in teams of 2 per shift. Strong communication and assessment skills are a must. Clientele includes the homeless population and those with insurance.

JOB FUNCTION:
Assists in the implementation of consumer care and administers mediations to consumers according to established protocols. Takes the lead in directing unit operations in relation to consumer care, oversight of unit functioning, safety, unit schedule, aggression management, etc. Communicates routinely with RN and seeks guidance as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Current Florida licensure as a LPN and documentation of successful completion of a pharmacology course and/or examination, plus one (1) year experience in psychiatric nursing and one (1) year experience in medical/surgical nursing. Proven leadership skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit, twist, bend and stand for long periods. Must be able tot transport self from building to building and differing locations. Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Exposure to consumers and all possible program emergencies and conditions; to possible irregular working hours; to a variety of work locations as the need arises.
