Perspectives Corporation’s Nurse is a mobile position – traveling between Perspectives programs throughout the state of RI. The Nurse is responsible for ensuring the overall health and physical well-being of the individuals served. This position is responsible for safe medication administration and medical procedures through appropriate delegation, as well as providing optimal clinical support. In addition, the Nurse is responsible for ensuring that agency policies and procedures are implemented correctly and that the individuals served live valued and high-quality lives.
Broad areas of responsibility:
- Participating in agency activities
- Serving on committees
- Communicating the agency’s values and principles to others
- Assisting in staff management and leadership
- Providing training and mentoring to new and existing employees
- Guiding and supervising the work of Direct Support Professionals by setting clear expectations and monitoring progress
- Recognizing and valuing the skills and input of employees
- Implementing best practice measures as they relate to all medical and nursing responsibilities
Minimal Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current license in the state of Rhode Island
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Nursing
- Broad-based nursing knowledge in: anatomy, physiology, nursing diagnosis-treatment, treatment planning
- Effective time management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Supervision experience
- Must have a safe driving record (no more than 2 moving violations within a 3-year period)
- Must have a favorable Criminal Background Check
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal, insured vehicle
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of nursing experience
- Preference is given to individuals with nursing experience in the intellectual / developmental disability (IDD) population and community or psychiatric nursing
- Ability to work independently and with autonomy
- Experience and comfort in delivering trainings
- Ability to be flexible with daily schedule
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Nursing
