What are the responsibilities and job description for the Morning Shelter Monitor position at Peru PADS?
We are currently looking to hire a dedicated and compassionate individual for the position of Morning Shelter Monitor. The hours for this shift are from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. We are currently looking for someone to cover these morning shift hours on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
The role of Morning Shelter Monitor will involve working as a proactive team member, with the volunteers, and clients, to ensure the overall safety and effectiveness of the shelter program. This position includes the following areas of responsibility:
1.) Utilizing strong communication skills, including effective listening, to guide and assist volunteers and to collect follow-up information from shelter guests.
2.) Complying with implemented agency procedures, such as shelter rules, confidentiality, and making appropriate decisions.
3.) Being empathetic towards our clients and their needs.
4.) Proficiency with typing, navigating a computer, and Microsoft Word and Excel.
5.) Following through with ensuring smooth shelter operations, including helping to fulfill volunteer responsibilities as needed, assisting with the check-in process for returning clients, conducting walk through safety checks, supervising scheduled smoke breaks, preparing and serving lunch.
6.) Documenting client interactions throughout the shift as a means of being a contributing team member.
7.) Completing other assignments given by the Program Director.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
