Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Classroom Management:
- Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in medical assisting, including clinical procedures, administrative duties, and patient care
- Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and instructional activities
- Ensure students gain practical experience with medical equipment, taking vitals, performing injections, and assisting with minor procedures
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation and engagement
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom and lab environment
- Assess and evaluate student performance through quizzes, exams, practical skills assessments, and projects
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to help students succeed
- Monitor student attendance and academic progress, identifying and addressing areas for improvement
- Offer career advice and guidance on professional development, including resume building and interview preparation
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, trends, and certification requirements for Medical Assistants
- Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure curriculum aligns with accreditation standards and meets employer needs
- Maintain student records and documentation as required by accreditation bodies and institutional policies
- Participate in faculty meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities
- Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification (required)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant
- Previous teaching or training experience in a classroom or healthcare setting (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for teaching
- Ability to convey complex concepts in a clear, engaging manner
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, medical equipment, and clinical procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with educational technology and tools, including online learning platforms (preferred)
- This is an in-person role requiring face-to-face interaction with students.
