Columbia Nephrology is the largest, most comprehensive nephrology group in South Carolina. We have 19 physicians, 12 advanced practitioners, and 5 offices located throughout the Midlands. We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant and offer highly competitive salaries and benefits.

Minimum Qualification:
- High school graduate, Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certificate, up-to-date certification from an accredited program, Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), medical terminology and computer skills,
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical office, phlebotomy, typing, computer skills, and electronic medical record experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Escorting patients to exam rooms and preparing them for the exam with the physician.
- Updating patient's medication list and vitals in electronic chart
- Answering phones and directing them to the appropriate person
- Schedule appointments for established and new patients
- Arrange hospital admissions, outpatient testing or arranging dialysis admissions for patients
- Calling patients with test results, medications changes, treatments, and documenting in the patient's electronic health records. (EHR)
- Monitor prescription line and faxed prescriptions. complete prior authorization if needed
- Checking electronic charts to make sure all necessary information is in the chart before the patient is seen
- Administer injections
- Fill in at check in and check out area if needed
- Completing prior authorizations for OP procedures
- Scanning documents in patients' records
- Potentially travel to other offices to include Columbia and Lugoff
- Other duties as requested
