What are the responsibilities and job description for the Emergency Communications Officer position at Phelps County Central Communications?
Full-time Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) position available in 911 center, dispatching for multiple law enforcement, fire and ambulance agencies in Phelps County. Experience is preferred but not necessary. We will train you. Several of our staff came to us with no public safety experience.
We will consider lateral hires for applicants with experience working in a PSAP.
We are looking for people who can work any shift and who enjoy a busy work environment. The ability to multi-task is a must. We also need strong communicators and people who are comfortable working on computers. Most of what we do involves computers. We have a great team and look for people who have positive attitudes, a sense of humor, and a strong work ethic.
ECO's generally work 12-hour shifts which allow for a three-day weekend every other week. We also offer a shift differential when you work the night shift.
We have a newly remodeled 911 center and a quiet room for de-stressing. We also have a peer support program.
