About Us:

We are a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Pet Sitters International and the Natural Dog Company. Established in 2017, Philly's Paws and Claws has become the leading pet care provider in Germantown.

We are a full-service pet care business offering dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare/boarding, pet taxi services, and limited grooming. We are searching for dedicated individuals to join us in a part-time role combining dog daycare work and neighborhood dog walking. This position offers a unique opportunity to grow professionally in a vibrant and supportive environment.

Position: Part-Time Pet Care Professional

• This role involves working weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 11am to 2pm, starting at about 15 hours per week.
• There's potential to increase hours to up to 25-30 weekly based on performance and demand.
• No two weeks are ever identical in pet care, so we appreciate candidates who have flexibility with their availability.
• We require that each staff member is available for at minimum one weekend day per month. Candidates with more weekend availability will have extra consideration.
• Philly’s Paws & Claws operates every major holiday. Part-time availability is required on holidays; however, staff will alternative holidays worked.
• Located in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, your responsibilities will include both dog daycare tasks and local dog walking within a 5-mile, 15-minute radius of the daycare.
• A personal vehicle will be required to travel from the daycare to the client homes to perform the private dog walking work.

What we offer:

• $17 per hour for dog daycare work
• $20 to $28 per visit for local neighborhood dog walking
• Potential monthly earnings of $800 to $1200.
• Additional income through client gratuities, holiday bonuses and potential referral and performance bonuses.
• All necessary supplies provided.

Responsibilities:

Daycare Duties:

• Clean animal areas, maintain inventory, and manage feeding schedules.
• Monitor pet health and encourage a safe, nurturing environment.
• Administer medications (drops, topical, and pills) as instructed by clients.
• Assist with client drop-offs/pick-ups and, post-training, perform basic grooming services.

Dog Walking Duties:

• Safely transport dogs and provide pet taxi services.
• Ensure pets stay in a safe and positive environment indoors and outdoors.
• Follow specific care instructions and deliver stellar customer service.
• Communicate efficiently with staff and clients and manage time effectively.

Ideal Candidate:

• We value teamwork and a love for animals. The ideal candidate is honest, patient, and enthusiastic, with a strong focus on humane and compassionate animal care.
• Prior experience with animals is advantageous but not necessary; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are key. Enjoy working independently and as part of a team in an active environment.
• The position requires availability from 11am - 2pm, Monday through Friday but a candidate who can work as early as 9am and/or as late as 3pm would be strongly coniderated. You would not be working during that entire period, but the availability is important.
