Primary Responsibilities
- Teach expertly your course of study
- Convey your enthusiasm for intellectual inquiry
- Design with our math enrichment coordinator and lead teachers instruction that fosters critical thinking and problem solving
- Create hands-on, project-based learning experiences
- Work with master teachers to create resources and establish milestones for student growth
- Support the well-being of every student
- Enjoy connecting with children and families
- Expand your toolbox of innovative teaching techniques through generous professional development
- Actively help develop our programs and contribute to the community beyond the classroom
- Lead by the example of your commitment to PBS’s mission and core values
- BA in mathematics or related field
- Experience working with young students preferred (e.g., summer camps, tutoring, teaching experience)
- Flexibility and creativity in working in a dynamic environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to strengths-based approach in working with children
- A growth mindset with an openness to feedback and continuous improvement
- Model lifelong learning of practice as well as subject area
