As a carpenter, you will be responsible for crafting, installing and repairing wooden structures and components for luxury yachts. You will work with various types of wood, wood substitutes, fiberglass and other materials to create high-quality and durable products that meet our clients’ specifications and expectations.

As a carpenter, you will be responsible for crafting, installing and repairing wooden structures and components for luxury yachts. You will work with various types of wood, wood substitutes, fiberglass and other materials to create high-quality and durable products that meet our clients’ specifications and expectations.
Key Job Functions
- Reading and understanding blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine the requirements and specifications for each project
- Taking measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed for each project
- Cutting, shaping and smoothing wood and other materials according to measurements using hand tools, power tools and machines
- Building, installing and repairing wooden structures and components such as frames, hulls, decks, cabins, furniture, fittings, railings, etc. for yachts
- Applying finishes such as paint, stain, varnish, etc. to wood surfaces to enhance their appearance and durability
- Inspecting and testing completed products for quality, functionality and compliance with standards
- Performing maintenance and repairs on existing wooden structures and components as needed
- Collaborating with other carpenters, engineers, designers and clients to ensure the successful completion of each project
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment and ensuring the proper care and storage of tools and materials
- Proven experience as a carpenter in the yacht building industry or a related field
- Knowledge of different types of wood, wood properties and carpentry materials
- Proficiency in using various carpentry tools and equipment such as saws, drills, hammers, chisels, planes, routers, sanders, clamps, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Ability to perform mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.
- Ability to work with precision and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good physical condition and stamina
- Must have Grade 10 or Equivalent Qualification
- Must have at least 5 years related experience
