Description
This internship is being offered to college students pursuing an engineering degree (mechanical, industrial, etc.) who are interested in an opportunity to gain experience in a stable and forward-thinking manufacturing company.
As a Design Engineering Intern, you will support the design engineering team by assisting in developing design concepts and detailed documentation for both defined and conceptual customer opportunities. This position will also create 3D models and detailed layout drawings, applying relevant design and engineering standards to ensure product conformance, including NEC, OSHA, ASTM, EN, IECEx standards, and EU Directives (ATEX 94/9/EC).
This is a 12-week, full-time, position beginning in May 2024 at our Frederick, Maryland office. Our standard business hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. We will coordinate a schedule that works for you and our Engineering Department.

- Developing knowledge of design technology and product applications.
- Ability to support technical projects with service-oriented customer communication.
- Ability to interpret verbal and non-verbal communication to determine root cause of issues/problems, determine a solution and apply the solution.
- Ability to work closely with production operators on the production floor.
- Ability to present oral and written communication to internal/external stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Strong organization and prioritization skills.
