Position Overview
PHOS is seeking a talented Search Marketing Specialist who finds great joy in identifying trends in data, making informed inferences, and creating search engine strategies that move them closer to their goals.
The primary channels for this role include organic search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising.
The Search Marketing Specialist enjoys collaborating with other team members to bring campaigns to life. They will work closely with the Digital Campaign team to support a multi-channel digital strategy for our clients.
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Search Marketing Specialist, you will do the following for clients and/or PHOS:
- Develop an inbound marketing strategy and plan to help clients grow website traffic, leads, and revenue.
- Manage the client relationship by having frequent updates, phone calls, and presentations.
- Craft target keyword strategies based on clients’ industries and offerings.
- Audit clients’ websites for SEO improvements and opportunities.
- Create high-quality, user-focused content that aligns with keyword strategy and addresses searcher intent.
- Collaborate with the Development team to improve website usability, user experience, and conversion paths.
- Incorporate keyword research and competitor analysis to justify budget allocations and maximize ROI.
- Implement, monitor, and adjust pay-per-click campaigns.
- Analyze landing page performance and recommend optimizations to improve ad relevance, quality score, and conversion rates.
- Develop strategies for remarketing and retargeting campaigns to re-engage users who have previously interacted with the website or ads.
Proficiencies
Communication & Presenting
The Search Marketing Specialist will have the ability to communicate effectively via phone, face-to-face interaction, and email to make our clients happy and successful. This also includes the ability to build clear and correct presentations that tell a story.
Writing & Grammar
The Search Marketing Specialist must be able to write blogs, eBooks, and presentations with an adaptable voice and tone. You are likely the right person if you have said, at least once in your life, “I love grammar.”
This person must also understand the basics of SEO and the importance of high-quality content marketing.
Digital Marketing Analytics
The Search Marketing Specialist will use data to inform their strategies and recommendations. This person is able to think strategically and use research to guide your next move. You are a great fit for this role if you have proficient knowledge of Google Analytics.
Organization & Time Management
The Search Marketing Specialist will serve multiple clients. This requires a high level of organization and time management. This person should be detail-oriented and excellent at quality assurance.
Hungry to Learn
Digital marketing is always changing. The person in this role must have a passion for marketing and lifelong learning. We expect you to keep up with new strategies, changes to platforms, and opportunities to grow our clients and PHOS.
Accountability
At PHOS, we pride ourselves on transparency and a high level of accountability. As the Search Marketing Specialist, you must be willing to take responsibility for meeting or exceeding client targets. You will send monthly reports to the client outlining the work you have done and should be ready to explain any metric presented.
Requirements
- Relevant BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related degree
- At least one year of experience in a similar marketing role
- Understanding of content writing/planning for SEO strategies
- Experienced in Google Ads
- Experienced in Google Analytics/GA4
- Bonus points: Fluency in using and managing WordPress, Bing advertising, Inbound Marketing Certification from HubSpot, content writing experience, technical SEO functions, or proficiency in Google’s Looker Studio.
Remote Work
We currently operate in a hybrid work schedule, coming physically into the office two days per week and working completely remotely three days per week. We’re looking for someone in or around Gainesville, FL, who has the flexibility to come in for client meetings and team activities.
