What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Trainer position at Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers?
Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers is seeking a Full time or Part time certified Athletic Trainer through our Essex clinic to provide outreach Athletic Training services.
This position will serve as the Athletic Trainer for an outreach, secondary school contract. This role utilizes Athletic Training knowledge and skills to prevent, assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injury, and act as an extension of PTSMC’s clinics to provide athletic training services for the community.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for all student-athletes and athletic event coverage including practice and competition
- Prepare athletes for competition through various techniques of taping, bandaging and stretching, including emergency care of acute injuries.
- Provide quality AT care through performing screenings, on-field evaluation and treatments, and triaging of injuries.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with school administrators, coaches, student-athletes, and parents.
- Provide education to student-athletes and parents regarding injury/illness, and maintain accurate documentation of injury and illness using injury reports, daily treatment logs.
- Facilitate referrals tor treatment and rehabilitation of injury to physical therapists and physicians
- Establish community connections and actively participate in school system to provide educational programs to staff, parents, athletes and community groups.
