What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advertising Compliance Analyst position at Physicians Mutual?
Physicians Mutual is seeking a detailed, team-oriented Advertising Compliance Analyst to analyze advertising regulations including company standards, state, federal, and industry guidelines in support of developing promotional content. In this role, you would utilize graphic design skills and copywriting skills as you work closely with the team to build, edit and analyze content for advertising via multiple sales channels. You would coordinate multiple projects and communicate extensively with internal customers.
Selected key responsibilities:
- Applying product knowledge and interpreting advertising regulations to ensure compliance with varying state requirements
- Developing compliance solutions to meet changing market and regulatory needs that provide a responsive, proactive outcome
- Providing instruction and guidance to distribution channels on advertising compliance issues, as well as interpretations and applications of guidelines and regulations
- Lead and/or participate in compliance assessments, including writing final reports and making recommendations for improvements and follow up
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Journalism, English or related field required
- Effective decision-making skills with the ability to communicate, negotiate and explain final outcome in written or oral communication
- Knowledge of Mac software (Adobe Creative Suite to include InDesign) or similar graphic software tool preferred
- 2 years’ experience in a compliance position providing exposure to Company products, advertising and general industry practices preferred
- Knowledge of direct mail marketing methods; Web, telemarketing/telesales, and print techniques
- Knowledge of consumer marketing methods; print, television, radio, marketing collateral, advertising and presentations
- Strong organization and prioritization skills; excellent attention to detail
- Strong research, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent composition and writing skills including proper syntax, punctuation and spelling
- Strong time management skills to perform multiple tasks simultaneously to meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced and regulated insurance environment
- Project management and team work skills; ability to adapt to constant change
- Ability to judge, critique and edit copy
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of Company personnel
