What are the responsibilities and job description for the Linux Administrator position at Pi Square Technologies?

  • 8 years of experience in Linux system administration preferably in a data center or video delivery environment
  • Proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 7 8 and 9 and above
  • Familiarity with CentOS Linux.
  • Strong understanding of Linux system administration fundamentals including user management file systems networking and security.
  • Familiarity with Cisco UCSC220 M5 and M6 hardware
  • Experience with server installation configuration and maintenance.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible (highly preferred) or similar configuration management systems.
  • Understanding of TCP / IP networking DNS DHCP and firewalls.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications including backup and restore processes on Linux servers.
  • Familiarity with the video delivery platforms is a MUST.
  • Experience with Git Artifactory or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of security best practices for Linux systems.
  • Experience with MPEG monitoring tools and Splunk dashboards.
  • Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the Jira and the Remedy ticketing system
