JOB TITLE: IT Support Technician
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORTING TO: Senior & IT Support Engineers
SUMMARY:
The IT Support Technician at Piasecki Aircraft Corporation assists in maintaining and supporting the organization's computing and technology systems, providing technical assistance to staff members and ensuring adherence to IT standards and protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in implementing network security tools and protocols.
- Support the maintenance of IT infrastructure in compliance with company and regulatory policies.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding procedures for new users, including providing training.
- Assist in maintaining company web and SharePoint sites.
- Assist in deploying new end-user devices and performing basic troubleshooting.
- Assist in maintaining backup systems and disaster recovery plans.
- Provide support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and video conferencing equipment.
- Assist in managing IT assets, including software licenses and hardware warranties.
- Assist in evaluating and purchasing software, hardware, and IT supplies.
- Provide basic administration support for Office 365 environment.
- Assist in supporting Windows servers and desktops.
- Assist in maintaining network switches and firewalls.
- Assist in maintaining server and security audits.
- Provide basic troubleshooting support to users with varying technical abilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior & IT Support Engineers.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Basic understanding of IT security principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Office 365 applications.
- Knowledge of desktop support and troubleshooting techniques.
- Basic understanding of network concepts.
- Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or relevant field preferred.
- Relevant work experience may substitute for a degree in some cases.
