Asset Management Specialist 3

Pierce County’s Surface Water Management (SWM) team is looking for an Asset Management Specialist 3 to focused on delivery of GIS services.  In this role you will be responsible for complex GIS analysis, mapping, mobile solutions development, implementation, AGOL development and versioning of the post processing of GIS data collection. Your efforts will ensure that current and future state data is provided to the SWM team to keep Pierce County a great place to work and live.

How to be Successful in the Role: 
In this role you will use your technical know-how to support both internal and external customers by tracking GIS production updates, building a data dictionary, organizing the GIS data received, and with that data version it as well as post process it.  In addition, you will do NPDES mapping, and floodplain review, mapping, and analysis. While using initiative to improve processes to be more efficient, you will keep the team informed on the latest information of asset management and GIS development.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

• Produce information, reports, graphs, project lists, maps, and other information.
• Make recommendations to decision makers to be used in resource allocation decisions made to manage infrastructure assets.
• Write technical reports, operational guidelines, or documents to support a job function and record information for future use.
• Provide technical information and explain policies and procedures to the public, other staff, or groups in person, on the telephone or in writing.
• Organize and analyze data and perform difficult calculations and mapmaking to support a major asset management function in the department.
• Conduct on-site inspections to gather data or to assure the quality of asset condition and inventory data being collected by lower-level technical positions; prepare inspection reports.

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, geography, or closely related field
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in asset management.
• Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education.
