Job Summary
Our Employment Specialists work closely with individuals who experience a disability to ensure our services reflect their wishes, needs, abilities and employment goals. The Employment Specialist/Job Coach will work directly with clients and their employers at the job site, they also work with individuals to learn and maintain all needed ancillary skills to ensure successful ongoing employment. We also provide support to individuals to become full participating members of their community.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist clients to discover and build skills to overcome barriers and set goals.
Network with local businesses to develop employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Assess the strengths of each job seeker and assist them to learn to use them.
Provide job coaching for designing and using effective job search techniques.
Advise on workplace accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Develop effective employment and coaching plans for each individual.
Monitor and evaluate progress of clients.
Maintain up-to-date contact notes, case records and other assigned paperwork.
Provide training to support the participant and employer through job, task, or schedule changes.
Identify and implement solutions to transportation problems as needed.
Coordinate with residential staff or families when needed.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with the individual, employer, and other supports. Communicate any personnel issues with P, J & A supervisor.
Attend weekly staff meetings. Provide input to other staff and volunteer to share responsibilities that contribute to the success of the team.
Participate in client review sessions with representatives of involved agencies, families or chosen advocates. Assist with establishing annual service plan goals.
Develop ongoing positive relationships with key co-workers in the participants place of employment.
Carry out additional responsibilities as identified.

Ability to relate to a diverse set of situations and individuals
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Self-directed and able to work independently
Willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends when needed
Qualifications and Skills
Mandatory Qualifications
Working knowledge of MS Office
Maintain punctual, regular, and consistent attendance
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License
Must possess private auto liability insurance and submit physical verification of insurance
Must pass a criminal background search conducted by Washington State
Completion of form I-9, Immigration and Naturalization Services as required by law.
Must possess current certification in First Aid and CPR no later than 30 from initial date of hire
Covid vaccination required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
