What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Assistant position at Pikeville Smiles?
Job Summary:
Mon-Thur 8:00-5:00
The ideal candidate will assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and help ensure excellent patient care.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Assist the dentist during procedures as needed
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
-General cleaning of office
Skills:
- Experience is a plus but not required. On site training available.
- Ability to operate X-Ray equipment and develop X-Rays
- Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix)
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and systems
- Understanding of medical coding for dental procedures
- Strong patient assessment skills
