Summary

The Community Support Team (CST) Supervisor serves as the senior clinician and Team Lead of a high-intensity interdisciplinary behavioral health team. CST represents the most intensive level of community-based care offered by the organization, serving individuals with complex, high risk, and high-need behavioral health conditions. The CST Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the team, providing direct supervision, facilitating coordinated care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Team Supervision & Leadership

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, hiring and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; providing coaching and development (inclusive of providing clinical support, clinical and administrative supervision for direct service work)
  • Monitor staff compliance with required training and administrative policies.

Client Care & Clinical Services

  • Provide direct services each week, including mental health rehabilitative services, therapy (individual, group, and/or family), and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Diagnose and treat behavioral health conditions using evidence-based practices such as Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Identify and respond to changes in client needs, including decompensation or risk of hospitalization, and adjust levels of care accordingly.
  • Coordinate care with family members, internal providers (medical, dental, SA/DV), and external partners such as schools, DCFS, hospitals, and community organizations.
  • Deliver services in the home, community settings, in-office, and virtually, as appropriate.
  • Respond to client and family needs outside of scheduled sessions, including during crises.

Program Operations & Compliance

  • Monitor team caseloads and ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratios.
  • Ensure fidelity to evidence-based models and compliance with documentation standards, billing requirements, organizational policies, and regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Complete and review clinical documentation (i.e., IM CANS, progress notes) to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.

Organizational Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Director of Mental Health Services, VP of Behavioral Health, and other program leaders to meet performance goals and programmatic needs.
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives and care coordination with other internal services.

Qualifications

Education And Experience

Masters' Degree in counseling, psychology, clinical social work or related field required. At least 2 years of experience in the mental health field. LCPC/LCSW/LMFT required. Licensure eligibility will be considered if licensure can be obtained within 3-6 months of starting in the position.

Experience on a Community Support Team (CST) or Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team is strongly preferred.

Experience providing clinical and administrative supervision required, with experience directing the course of treatment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work environment may include client homes and a general office environment. Local travel, including transporting clients, is required.

Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois Driver's License. Personal vehicle needed. CST staff will transport clients and their belongings in his/her personal vehicle. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.

PAY & BENEFIT INFORMATION

$62,000-$75,000*

  • Wage is based on one's experience, qualifications, whether they are clinically licensed, and bilingual language skills as compared with our position requirements and other similar employees within the organization.
