EDM/CNC OPERATOR

Summary

This position is responsible for operating a CMM, EDM sinker, EDM wire, and EDM hole popping machines along with misc. type work associated with the EDM operations. Location is at the organization’s tooling manufacturing facility.

• Ensures that completed components meets or exceeds the quality expectations of customers.
• Be part of the EDM team in reliably achieving the daily and weekly plan.
• Work with the team in doing one’s own part and working overtime necessary to achieve the daily and weekly plan.
• Must be proficient with setting up work piece, dial in per programming instruction, sweep in electrodes, touch off electrodes, and burn to accomplish a finished component.
• Must be proficient with programming, set up work piece, and run EDM wire to accomplish a finished component.
• Use measuring devices, tools, etc. that are associated with EDM sinker and wire machining to achieve a finished component.
• Efficient multitasking, such as setting up work pieces in the EDM’s, running programs and staging next job.
• Reliable attendance is a crucial piece in contributing to a high-performance EDM team.
• Employees must maintain a neat and orderly area, 5S.
• Have the ability to hold tight tolerances when executing a manual process.
• Perform basic routine scheduled maintenance on wire machines and stay current on preventive maintenance.
• Performs all assigned machine shop operations.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
• Performs inspection of machined products and documents results.
• Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Experience in mold manufacturing.
• At least two years of experience in EDM Sinker and Wire machines.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
