What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Partner position at Pinebrook Family Answers?
The Family Support Partner utilizes their experience of raising a child with severe emotional and/or behavioral health challenges to assist parents with similar challenges. This provides an empathetic link to the parent through which the Family Support Partner supports and extends the work of the HFW facilitator to ensure the phases and activities, principles and theory of change are accomplished and provides direct services to the parents to better ensure an individualized approach.
High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) is team-based, collaborative process for helping children and youth with special mental health needs and their families identify and use their strengths and community resources.
Your Role as a Family Support Partner
- Credentialing: Complete the requirements set by the Youth and Family Training Institute of Pennsylvania within 12 months.
- Peer Support: Provide support and information to parents/caregivers about Pinebrook Family Answers and the HFW program.
- Team Collaboration: Help families understand team roles and develop individualized plans.
- Experience Sharing: Share personal and professional experiences to meet family needs.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the parent’s voice and perspective in the initiative.
- Training and Consultation: Train staff on developing successful parent-professional partnerships.
- Regular Meetings: Meet with the team to provide information about the family’s story, culture, strengths, concerns, and needs.
- Documentation: Complete timely and professional documentation as per HFW credentialing standards.

- Lived experience as the parent or legal caregiver of a child who has received mental health services (The child must now be over 18 years of age).
- Outgoing Personality: Ability to engage with people from diverse cultures, ages, and backgrounds.
- System Experience: Familiarity with various systems such as schools, mental health agencies, child welfare, juvenile justice, and healthcare.
- Community Resources: Extensive knowledge of community resources and the ability to effectively engage with them.
