What are the responsibilities and job description for the Appliance/Refrigeration Technician-Journeyman position at Pinellas County Schools?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, plus four (4) years progressively responsible experience in commercial and domestic major and small appliance and refrigeration repair, primarily related to food services operations, and performing most of the duties and responsibilities stated above. The successful completion of up to two (2) years of verifiable formal training in the trade (vocational, military, or indentured apprentice school) may be substituted for a like amount of the experience requirement. Possession of a valid State of Florida Class E noncommercial driver's license and any other license as may be required by law.
MAJOR FUNCTION: Performs skilled journeyman level work in the installation, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of commercial and domestic major and small appliances and equipment in the school's food services, culinary arts, home economics and warehouse areas. Responsibilities include training and lead direction of helpers, and responsibility for completion of assigned tasks. Work is performed independently under general direction, in accordance with specifications and accepted standards and procedures of the trade.
