What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firefighter position at Piney Grove Volunteer Fire Department?
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and provide firefighting and rescue services
- Operate firefighting equipment, such as hoses, pumps, and ladders
- Perform search and rescue operations in hazardous environments
- Perform basic life support and administer first aid to injured individuals
- Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain skills and readiness
- Maintain fire apparatus, equipment, and facilities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Certification as a firefighter from an accredited training academy
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in firefighting operations
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Proficient in CPR and vital signs assessment
- Commercial driving experience is a plus
