Position Summary
The Refined Fuel Bobtail Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering refined fuels to our residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck (3,000-5,000-gallon capacity). Our Refined Fuel Bobtail Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Comply with all cities, state, and federal regulations
- Loads, secures, transports, and delivers propane to residential and commercial locations
- Must perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
- Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven in compliance with all DOT regulations
- Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
- Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
- Applies a thorough understanding of the technical concepts, practices and procedures and a general knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to testing and transporting bulk petroleum products to pipeline injection points
- Plans and accomplishes a complete range of operational assignments and tasks that are varied and moderately complex to complex related to gauge tank volumes and testing product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products and transporting from remote locations to pipeline injection points
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
- Ability to properly drive and operate a company vehicle
- Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
- Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
