AR Analyst

Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable (AR) Analyst will play a vital role in managing and optimizing the organization's billing and collection processes. This position ensures accurate processing of claims, payments, and adjustments while maintaining compliance with healthcare and non-profit industry standards. The AR Analyst will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve the efficiency of AR operations.

Key Responsibilities of the AR Analyst

Billing and Claims Management

  • Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies, government programs, and patients.
  • Verify patient eligibility, coverage, and authorizations for services rendered.
  • Monitor claims for errors or denials and take corrective actions as needed.

Accounts Reconciliation

  • Reconcile payments and adjustments to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable balances.
  • Collections and Follow-Up

  • Conduct timely follow-up on outstanding claims and balances.
  • Work with patients to set up payment plans and address billing inquiries.
  • Collaborate with insurance providers and third-party payers to resolve issues.
  • Reporting and Analysis

  • Generate AR aging reports to monitor outstanding balances and trends.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates to management on AR performance metrics.
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence

  • Ensure all billing and collection activities comply with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive patient information.
  • Qualifications of the AR Analyst

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or healthcare finance.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare billing and coding standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).
