Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for recording, analyzing and reporting on the financial results of the Pioneer Industries, Inc. division. The Senior Accountant safeguards the assets of the division, establishes and maintains proper internal controls over transactions and payments. The Senior Accountant also assures that Corporate Policies are enforced at the Division level.

Responsibilities/Duties

• Performs monthly general ledger accounting for Division. Prepares journal entries and monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and management reports.
• Reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly and maintains appropriate back-up documents to support the balances.
• Analyzes account profitability and makes recommendations on logistics, processing or pricing improvements.
• Prepares analysis of income statement variances with appropriate explanations to prior period, budgets and forecasts.
• Leads annual preparation of the Division budget, and monthly preparation of the Division projection.
• Works with operations staff on completion of monthly physical inventory and compilation of results.
• Supports the Division President and prepares analyses and management reports as directed.
• Monitors the collection of Division accounts receivable. Makes collection calls as necessary and advises corporate staff of collection issues.
• Actively participates in the management of all facets of the operation of the Division. Interacts with sales, marketing, operations, maintenance, and management team.
• Performs other duties as directed by Division President or Corporate Finance Staff.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• General ledger, accounting analysis, finance statement prep, accounts/receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Sage Mass 500 knowledge is a plus
• Multi-plant/location environment
• Recycling industry experience is a plus
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) from a four-year college or university.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a midsize regional company, demonstrating proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  
  

Salary

• The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
