We are seeking a perm In-Patient Nurse Manager for a critical access hospital in Iowa. This candidate will be over seeing the daily operations for a med/surg and swing bed department. While they are not in charge of the ICU, they do have higher acuity patients at times.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee nursing staff and ensure the highest standards of patient care in our health care facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care, experience with children, and familiarity with various medical procedures including spinal taps and catheter care. This role requires effective leadership skills, the ability to assess patient needs, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient health care environment.
Duties
- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with health care regulations and standards, including workers compensation law.
- Oversee patient assessment processes to develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes in a Level II trauma center setting.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices in critical care and emergency response.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on DRG guidelines.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and health care providers to ensure comprehensive care.
Experience
- Proven experience as a nurse manager or in a similar leadership role within a health care setting.
- Strong clinical background with experience in critical care and pediatric nursing preferred.
- Familiarity with spinal tap procedures, catheter care, and patient assessment techniques.
- Understanding of DRG coding and workers compensation law is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
